The Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR 13A.05.02.13I) requires every local school system in Maryland to establish a Special Education Citizens Advisory Committee (SECAC). Its primary purpose is to advise the local school system on the educational needs of students with disabilities and recommend improvements to special education policies and programs.

To become a member, you simply must attend one of our meetings, either in-person or online. We also offer the opportunity to serve on sub-committees.

Our meetings are usually held on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm at the Center for Education Services on Downsville Pike. Meeting information will be posted on our website and social media pages throughout the school year.
